Good to know before you go:

  • Liquids in your carry-on are limited to 3.4oz. and must be packed in a quart size zip lock bag.
  • Metal objects such as tweezers, razors, nail files, etc. need to be packed in your checked luggage.
  • Verify flight times at least 24 hours in advance.
  • Pack essentials and valuables such as prescriptions, in your carry-on bag.
  • Call your credit card company prior to departure and advise them of your travel plans.
  • Call your cell phone company and inquire about international rates and services.
  • Check in time at most hotels is 4 p.m., and check out is usually at 11 a.m. Luggage can typically be stored with the front desk if requested.
  • Most hotels provide blow dryers, in room safes and pool towels.
  • All inclusive hotels may have a dress code at some of their restaurants.
  • Some destinations charge arrival/departure taxes.

Prior to departure check list:

  • Make copies of your travel itinerary, passport and credit cards. Leave copies with someone at home who can access them if required.
  • Leave someone a house key, a copy of where you are staying and phone number.
  • Clearly label each piece of luggage and remove old destination tags to avoid confusion.
  • Don’t pack anything valuable or fragile.
  • Fill prescriptions needed during travel.
  • Call credit card company with dates of travel.
  • Arrange for pet care.
  • Water house plants.
  • Adjust house thermostat.
  • Arrange for mail pick up.
  • Discard perishable food.
  • Arrange for someone to set out the trash.
  • Go to bank for small bills and if needed request foreign currency.
  • Pay bills due while in your absence.
  • Surge protect computer/sensitive electronics.
